How do I add layers to my project
Here is how to add layers and move them around in a project
First, Click on the project you want to add a layer to. Note, that this can only be done on the web admin (app.sitemarker.com). Next, click on "Maps".

You will see a tab called Map Layers. Expanding this will reveal several options:
New Groups
Groups are a way to store your library of map layers in more specific groups. Key benefits of using Groups:
- The order you present layers in groups, is the order the layers will present on your device. Cutsheets laid over top of each other come together in a fullsheet through the map
- Easier to find the layer you are looking for.
- Custom organization based on your projects need.

Add Layer
After clicking "Add Map Layer" a screen will pop up that you can drag your file into or click to open up your files. We accept several files:
- KML (with or without points)
- KMZ (with or without points)
- GeoTiff or drone images
- PNG
- JPEG
Uploading the image will open up a screen where the layer can be scaled, sized, and positioned to the user's liking. If you upload a correctly located KML, KMZ, or Geotiff, the file with automatically be placed on the map. See how to export a KMZ from autocad here.
Useful Tip: Since KML / KMZs are geolocated, uploading this file initally provides a good base to match your PDFs up with the linework!
After selecting the layer you want to upload, if it is a PDF or image file you will see the below screen:

Map Layer Addition Options:
- Rename the Map Layer
- Align via points: See our How To Align A Layer In 4 Clicks: FAQ: Aligning Map Layers
- Map Layers Tab: Turn on other layers to help line up your PDF
- Scale: adjust this number to match the document scale to the maps scale.
- Hint: This can usually be found on the document
- Dimensions: If your layer comes in portait vs landscape, this is an easy way to switch
- Rotation: You can either manually enter the docuemtn rotation, or grab the corners on the document to rotate with your mouse.
- Position: Allows you to lock the document so moving around the map and zooming in is easier.
- Group Selection: If you have a layer group created, this makes it easy to add in layers when you save
- Save your layer!
Below is an example of what a PDF layer aligned over a KML would look like:

Inherit Attributes From Other Layers

Are you adding more than one PDF? We have a way to do this faster!
When you start to add your next layer, you will see a bar at the bottom asking if you would like to "Select Map Layer attributes to Copy".
If you are uploading several layers that share the same scale and rotation, this allows you to copy the properties and alignment from the layers you have uploaded.
Instead of scaling each time, this enables you to move the layer into position with no additional changes!
Import Layer
Importing layers makes it easier to share the same layer across multiple projects. Maybe you are working on a large residential neighborhood with many phases as seperate project. Instead of uploading an overall plan multiple times, just import it from the other project!
